The History Of Pizza

Pizza is one of those staples that we all enjoy. How many people do you know that tell you they don’t like pizza? Not many. With all those great pizza spices, the gooey cheese and the delicious sauce, it’s hard to not enjoy a few slices of pizza every now and then.

But where did pizza come from? There’s a few different arguments about who invented the pizza as many of these shrinks come from the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

There are claims that the Greeks invented modern pizza because it was called Picea. This came about around the early 1000s and was a basis for the Greek pie version around the year 1000 BC. The Phoenicians and their version of the pizza is said to have been perfected around the age 120 AD.

The Roman Empire had a pizza for their emperor, Julius Caesar, and Marinara was officially listed in history as one of their contributions to American civilization.
